Flights to the Galapagos

How long is the flight from Ecuador to Galapagos?
Flights to the Galapagos from Quito take about 2 hours, and flights form Guayaquuil to Galapagos take and 1 and a half hours


Are there luggage restrictions on the airplanes?
Yes, you are limited to 20kg. But don’t worry bathing suits and shorts don't weigh much!


What should we bring?
A: Since the Islands are situated very near the Equator, we recommend you to bring lightweight clothes. It can get chilly at night, so a lightweight warm top/jacket is also recommended. Bring your swimming suits, sunscreen, and good footwear. If possible bring your own snorkeling gear, it is amazing and not to be missed!

When is the best time to travel to Galapagos?

Are there any immunizations required/recommended?
For the Galapagos Islands there are no immunizations neither required nor recommended.  There is no malaria in the Galapagos.

Will I have to exchange any money before we travel?
The Ecuador currency is the US dollar! This is very easy to get form you bank at home before you arrive. Also, there is ATM (automatic teller machines) in the two main towns of Galapagos so you can withdraw money using you cards.

What is the National Park entrance fee and how can I pay it?
The entrance fee is now $110. You'll pay $10 at the airport, and $100 on arrival. Please note that you need to pay in cash.

Is it possible to make international phone calls home?
Yes you can make international calls on the two main towns on the islands of Santa Cruz and San Cristobel. There are also internet facilities there.
